Kindergarten, First and Second Grades have a library lesson every week.
"A" Days - Brooks, Dowmon, and Gillespie
"B" days - Albarran, Buffa, and Sakhi
"C" days - Quiñones, Rasmussen, Oakley, Weiss, and Spangler
"D" days - Rodriguez, Robles, Williams, and Austin
"E" days - Wells, Brown, Stuercke, and Klode
Preschool comes to the library every other week for a story time and book checkout.
Number of books that may be checked out on library day:
Preschool: one book
Kindergarten: one book.
First and Second Grades: two books.
Loan periods
Preschool: Students keep their books until their next library day, usually two weeks.
Kindergarten through Second Grade: Students may keep items until their next checkout day, usually one week.
*If students forget their library books on their scheduled checkout day, they should return them the following school day*
Fines
We do not charge fines for overdue books, but students must return overdue books before any additional books can be checked out.
Lost or Damaged Books
Students who lose books or damage books beyond repair will be charged the replacement cost of the book. No more books may be checked out until the lost or damaged items have been paid for. If lost books are later found and are in good condition, they may be returned for a full refund.
Book Selection
At Spaulding we strive to teach our students to select their books independently. If you notice your child is bringing home materials that are at an inappropriate level for their reading ability, please discuss this with your child first.
