🚌 Bookmobile Update 🚌
We are continuing to monitor the Covid metrics in our area, and right now it looks like we'll be able to start the bookmobiles back up again after break!!! Stay tuned for an exact date!
When we return to hybrid learning, the bookmobiles will continue to run in order to service our students still learning at home. As long as there are students learning from home, the bookmobiles will be there to provide books!

🎉 PBIS Celebration 🎉
On the last day of school before break, we had our PBIS celebration to celebrate our students' great behavior during remote learning! Students got to "choose their own adventure" and pick an activity to do. Congratulations to all the students on earning this fun reward! Ms. Isbell and her dog Remy dressed up as reindeer to read "How the Grinch Stole Christmas," and we had so much fun with the students who joined us! |
This month in the library...
This month in the library, we learned about authors and illustrators who have written wintery books! Kindergarten learned about Ezra Jack Keats. Did you know that when Keats was younger, his family ran out of paper for him to draw on, and his mom said he could draw on the kitchen table?? We learned some fun facts about Keats, and read his Caldecott Award winning book "The Snowy Day" together. We had lots of fun reading about Peter's adventures in the snow, and making connections to things we like to do on snowy days! First Grade learned about Jan Brett. Did you know that Jan Brett had lots of interesting pets growing up, including a donkey and a hedgehog? We read Jan Brett's "The Mitten," and used the illustrations to make predictions about what would happen next in the story! Many of us had already read "The Mitten" before, and we talked about how it can be lots of fun to read a book over and over again. Second Grade learned about Chris Van Allsburg. Did you know that Chris Van Allsburg draws the same dog into every single one of his books? One of the puzzles of reading a Chris Van Allsburg book is finding Fritz the dog in his illustrations! Chris Van Allsburg is also the author of "Jumanji," which many students connected to the new Jumanji movie! We read the Caldecott Award winner "The Polar Express," and every class found Fritz the dog before Ms. Isbell had even finished reading the first page! |
